Where is a multi-band compressor on my console?
PM1D (V1.6 or later), PM5D, M7CL, LS9, and DM/0 series has a program of multi-band dynamics in EFFECT unit (M.Band Dyna.).
PM5D, M7CL, and LS9 has multi-band compressor program also. This is little simplified version and easier to use. (M.Band Comp)
They are both have stereo input and stereo output.

I am a huge fan of multiband comps and dynamic eq's in the live world to control the dynamics of a particular freq without effecting the rest of the sound as a normal compressor might.
I love and use the BSS one all the time.
Is the multi band comp still set up in an auto mode??
So as you compress more it raises the output gain automatically?
If so could the auto function be removed and/or a selection option to do that part manually with a simple gain function be put in.
The auto part really messes with gain structure in a live application and makes it unusable for me. But I would love to have it as a tool.
THANKS!

Hi David,
Thank you for your comment.
I'll check with staff in Japan but it seems to be fixed to auto output gain mode. I guess it is designed for broadcast application.
As I understand it, it doesn't turn up the gain based on how much gain reduction (how much you compress), it ups the gain based on how low you set the threshold relative to the GAIN controls. This is completely predictable and not a big deal IF you set it up during soundcheck. It would be nice to know the math involved. I have been looking on google for an explanation of all the controls. Would be great to get that info up on the web. If it's in a manual, google can't find it.
